Definition of injection mould

The mold used in plastic injection moulding is called an injection mould, or injection mold for short. Injection moulds can mold plastic products with complex shapes, and precise dimensions or with inserts in one go.

For injection moulding processing, molds and injection molding machines have a great impact on the quality of molded products. It can even be said that the mold plays a greater role than the injection molding machine. If you do not fully understand the mold during injection molding, it will be difficult to obtain Excellent molded products.

Structure of Injection Mould

The structure of the injection mold is determined by the type of injection molding machine and the structural characteristics of the plastic part. Each mold is composed of a movable mold and a fixed mold. The movable mold is installed on the moving plate of the injection molding machine, while the fixed mold is installed on the fixed plate of the injection molding machine; during injection molding, the movable mold and the fixed mold are closed to form a pouring system and cavity. When the molds are separated, the plastic parts or beer The parts are left on the side of the movable mold, and then the ejection mechanism installed in the movable mold is used to eject the plastic parts. According to the different functions of each component in the mold, a set of injection molds can be divided into the following parts:

1. Molded parts

Parts that give shape, structure, and size to molded materials are usually composed of a core (punch), a concave mold cavity, a threaded core, and an insert.

2. Gating system

It is a channel that guides molten plastic from the injection machine nozzle to the closed mold cavity. It usually consists of a main channel, a runner, a gate and a cold well.

3. Guide parts

The guide component set up to ensure accurate alignment when the movable mold and the fixed mold are closed plays a guiding and positioning role. It is composed of a guide post and a guide sleeve. Some molds are also equipped with guide components on the ejection plate to ensure The demoulding mechanism moves smoothly and reliably.

4. Release mechanism

There are many structural forms of devices for demoulding plastic parts and pouring systems. The most commonly used demoulding mechanisms include ejector pins, ejector tubes, ejector plates, and pneumatic ejector. They generally consist of an ejector rod, a reset rod, a slingshot, an ejector fixed plate, It consists of top plate (top ring) and top plate guide post/guide sleeve.

5. Mold temperature adjustment system

In order to meet the mold temperature requirements of the injection molding process, a mold temperature adjustment system heating rod is required to adjust the mold temperature.

6. Exhaust system

In order to smoothly discharge the gas in the mold cavity, exhaust grooves are often provided at the mold parting surface and the fitting of the insert.
